Welcome to Virginia Scenic!

We are a construction company specializing in fully realized set and scenic element construction, soft goods, props and furniture fabrication.  For the last 20 years, Virginia Scenic has been a premiere scene shop for many clients ranging from theatre, opera and dance to large scale touring productions and corporate exhibits.  In March 2007 the business was purchased by Joy Callan, who had previously been with the company for 11 years.  Under her outstanding leadership, Virginia Scenic looks to the future with a fresh perspective and new and innovative concepts in production. Combining a shop space of 32,000 square feet with a fantastic collection of talent in multiple departments, we have the capability of creating anything that can be designed, within deadline and budget and with delivery upon request.  From competitive pricing to cutting edge artistry, Virginia Scenic is the best resource for any event on any scale.  Please review our links above for more information on our spectacular products and abilities.

New, Now, and Next

La Fanciulla del West

Currently, Virginia Scenic is constructing the set for Castleton Festival's production of The Girl of the Golden West, designed by Davide Gilioli.

Virginia Opera

Virginia Scenic recently completed a minimalist set for Streetcar Named Desire, commissioned by Virginia Opera and designed by Andromache Chalfant. This was the second set we completed for them in their 2012-13 season; the first was built for The Pearl Fishers, designed by Donald Eastman. We are overjoyed to have renewed our relationship with Virginia Opera and look forward to a bright future.
